1. Who we are

2. Information we collect and why

Account details (name, email address, phone number, password credentials) — to create and secure your account and provide the courses you register for. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.Learning data (lesson progress, quiz and placement-test scores, streaks, study schedule, pronunciation recordings and scores, teacher feedback) — to deliver lessons, grade work and show your progress. Legal basis: contract performance.Support and enquiry messages — to answer your questions and keep a record of the enquiry. Legal basis: contract performance and our legitimate interest in running the school.Technical data (device identifiers, IP address, browser type, usage and error telemetry) — for security, fraud prevention and improving the platform. Legal basis: legitimate interests.Marketing preferences — only where you have consented; you may withdraw consent at any time.

3. Children

Children's courses are registered by a parent or guardian, who provides the child's first name and learning level. We collect no more information about a child than is needed to deliver the lessons.

4. Who we share information with

Service providers and subprocessors that host our platform, store data, send email and provide analytics and support tooling.Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of our products, subscription management, payment processing, tax compliance and invoicing. Card details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us.Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.We do not sell your personal information.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. Retention

We keep account and learning records for as long as your account is active and for up to five years afterwards for accounting, audit and dispute purposes, after which the data is deleted or anonymised. Pronunciation recordings can be deleted from your dashboard at any time.

7. Your rights

You may request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing, and you may withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Contact us and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the UK or EEA.

8. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, role-based administrative access and row-level security on student records.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure the site, and limited analytics cookies to understand how lessons are used. You can manage or clear cookies in your browser settings; disabling essential cookies will prevent sign-in from working.
